The Wharf started out as a module that connected to the Northern California Narrow Gaugers module club layout. It was later incorporated into my home layout. Structures include a cargo ship, small boats, a warehouse, multiple small industries, and a bar. The buildings are all scratch built using photo texture images I down load from the internet, and then glue to foam-core board. Windows and doors are commercial purchase. The water is the MDF wood base painted shades of blue with Gloss Gel-medium brushed on to create waves. Larger waves are created using light weight wall patching compound applied to give some height. An additional coat of regular Gloss Medium was then applied over everything. Google the artist and model railroader, Troels Kirk, to view an excellent video where he explains this ocean wave technique. this module is now “retired”.
